What is dermatitis?
Dermatitis aka eczema is a group of skin disorders that cause red, itchy rash on the skin. Initially, the itchy rash may have small vesicles or blisters, later on, and if untreated or treated inadequately, the skin rash becomes dry, discolored and thickened (lichenified). The most common type of dermatitis is atopic dermatitis, which begins in childhood. Other types of eczema include nummular eczema, poison ivy dermatitis, and contact dermatitis.
